What can I expect from a Venus Viva laser skin resurfacing treatment?
The Venus Viva skin resurfacing treatment system is perfect for scars from injuries or acne as well as such skin conditions as visible pores, rosacea, stretch marks, uneven skin texture, and deep wrinkles.
Venus Viva treatments are not painful, though they may be slightly uncomfortable. The system creates an intense heat on the treatment area, similar to the feeling of sunburn, and feels like tiny pins on the skin followed by a small zap.
Sessions typically last between 15-30 minutes, and most clients need just three skin resurfacing treatments per area to see results. When your final treatment is complete, your results will continue to improve. We do recommend checking in with us every 6 months to determine whether you need one touch-up session.
After each treatment, your skin will be red for the first 24-hours, though keep in mind that other similar treatments often require a 10-day recovery time. Do not apply any lotions or wet your skin during that time. Once those 24-hours are over, you can resume your normal skincare routine. We encourage you to apply a minimum SPF 30 sunscreen to protect your skin. We also ask that you avoid rigorous exercise, hot baths, and massages on the treatment area for the first two days after your sessions.

Venus VivaTM treatments may be slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. You’ll feel intense heat, similar to the feeling of sunburn, and your face will look red right after the treatment.
Is there downtime after the skin resurfacing treatment? / How long is recovery time?
After the Skin Resurfacing treatment your skin will be red and for the first 24 hours, (unlike lasers or other treatments where recovery or downtime lasts up to 10 days) and you will not be allowed to apply or rub anything on your skin, including water or sweat.
After 24 hours, you may put on makeup and resume your regular skin care routine. You should apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30), preferably one without chemicals. But avoid rigorous exercise and hot baths or massages on the treatment area for the first 2 days after your session. Make sure to keep your skin clean and protected from the sun and avoid any sort of tanning.
How long will the results last and are they permanent?
After your final treatment, your results will continue to improve. However, one touch-up session may be needed approximately every 6 months, depending on how your skin responds to the Skin Resurfacing treatment.
